An engraved botanical-plate style, built entirely from fine lines.
A refined portrait in the style of an engraved botanical plate. The fur and form are built up entirely from fine, parallel and cross-hatched burin lines — no paint, only line structure — with tone set by the density of the hatching. To one side sit one or two engraved leaf or sprig accents, drawn by the same crafted hand. The whole feels archival and intellectual: sober, timeless and very precise, on warm plate paper that reads almost white.
