With an almost dry, wide brush your cat is dragged across coarse canvas so that every stroke breaks into scratchy, broken texture. The fur colours sit in a few big zones, the markings in darker drags, the eyes in two wet touches in their true colour; large parts of the figure stay bare primed canvas. Raw, honest and modern — the opposite of smoothed-over.
